In this lesson, we’ll explore how to develop an Xactimate Macro. A Macro allows you to store a sequence of related line items, such as those for windows, doors, walls, and roofs. This tool is incredibly useful for commonly used items, eliminating the need to input each line item into your estimate individually. Using a Macro, you can significantly speed up the estimation process.

This lesson will cover how to organize your folders effectively in Xactimate. Proper organization enhances the estimate flow, making the PDF version more reader-friendly. Additionally, it simplifies the navigation of the EXS file or your uploaded files in the Xactimate cloud, ensuring that managers or clients can easily follow your estimates.

This lesson is dedicated to creating an Xactimate estimate for ceiling damages. We’ll go through the process of estimating the removal of drywall, insulation, sealing, painting, and other related tasks. The focus will be on how to estimate a single patch repair. For multiple patches, double the quantity of the cutout. Adjust the quantity to reflect the entire ceiling area for estimating a full ceiling repair.

To estimate an entire wall, enter ‘W’ to capture the wall’s full measurements.
