Field Adjuster Equipment: Car Tray, Flashlight, and More

Today, look at some extra gear that’s super helpful for field adjusters.

A key tool is a 100-foot measuring tape, perfect for measuring long fence lengths on farms or a house’s outer perimeter when Eagle View isn’t an option.

A reliable flashlight is a must-have. It’s really useful in poorly lit homes, helping you photograph important details like water stains during inspections. Keep one in your car – it’s not always needed, but it’s invaluable when you do.

Then there’s this cool car steering wheel desk that also works as a backseat tray. Hook it onto your wheel, and you have a handy spot for your laptop. This makes estimating and reporting on the go easier. Doing estimates right at the site, even processing payments there, wraps things up neatly before you head home.

Chalk is another great item. It’s not just for roofs – use it to mark features like downspouts or garage doors while walking around a property. These marks in photos really help desk adjusters or team members understand what you’re working on. You can find different types of chalk on Amazon.

And don’t forget about the wheel measurer with its orange stick. It’s perfect for measuring big outdoor spaces. Sometimes, getting the homeowner involved in these measurements can build goodwill, as they like to help and see a positive result.

These extra items can really make your job easier. In the next video, we’ll talk about ladders – how to set them up safely and use them correctly. Stay tuned for more field adjuster tips!
